Chrebet has the second-most pass receptions in NYJ history with 580 career receptions during regular season play.  He is second only to Hall of Famer Don Maynard.

Chrebet has the third-most receiving yardage in NYJ history with 7,365 during regular season play.

His 7,365 yards from scrimmage place him fifth all-time in the NYJ record books during regular season play.

His 41 career touchdowns rank eighth all-time in NYJ history among scoring by non-kickers during regular season play.

Chrebet earned his nickname "Mr. Third Down" as a clutch third down receiver, with 379 first downs receiving during regular season play.

Among all-time NFL players who were undrafted, Wayne Chrebet owns the third-most receptions in the history of the league,  He trails only Rod Smith and Gary Clark.

One of the defining plays of Chrebet’s illustrious career occurred in game four of his rookie season when he turned a small five-yard reception into a brilliant 32-yard gain, breaking four Atlanta Falcons tackles along the far sideline and taking the ball to the brink of the goal-line.

Chrebet's longest career reception came against the Miami Dolphins on October 12th, 1997 when he caught a 70-yard pass from Neil O’Donnell.

During his career Chrebet caught passes from 13 different players: Boomer Esiason, Bubby Brister, Glenn Foley, Frank Reich, Neil O’Donnell, Ray Lucas, Vinny Testaverde, Rick Mirer, Tom Tupa, Curtis Martin, Chad Pennington, Quincy Carter and Brooks Bollinger.

Wayne Chrebet was inducted into the Hofstra University Hall of Fame on February 25th, 2006 and his jersey was retired.

Wayne Chrebet returned to the field wearing his trademark #80 and was formally honored by the New York Jets on September 23rd, 2007 during halftime of the Jets vs. Miami Dolphins game.
